New York Sports Medicine Institute | Concussion Care is a comprehensive center consisting of a multidisciplinary team of professionals with expertise in the assessment and treatment of individuals with concussions and head injuries.

NYSMI | Concussion Care is a Credentialed ImPACT® Consultant, offering both baseline and follow-up ImPACT® (Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing); the most widely used and most scientifically validated computerized concussion evaluation system.

Our interdisciplinary network of experienced specialists includes:

  • Physicians specializing in pediatric sports medicine, adolescent medicine, neurology, and orthopedics.
  • Family nurse practitioner
  • Vestibular rehabilitation trained physical therapist
  • School neuropsychologists
  • Certified athletic trainer

In addition to clinical care for concussions, NYSMI | Concussion Care is committed to decreasing the incidence of head injuries through ongoing education and research with area medical centers and hospitals.

NYSMI is available to educate parents, athletes, coaches, trainers, youth sports organizations about approaches they can take to minimize injuries; as well as school administrators, nurses and academic staff about treatment and accommodation of individual patients’ needs.

Our team also collaborates with others in the medical community to advance the overall knowledge of prevention, protection and treatment of concussive head injuries.

At NYSMI | Concussion Care we take a complete and individualized approach to patient care and thoroughly evaluate and treat patients after their injury to appropriately facilitate return to sports, work and the daily routine.
